Picomole ends per Microgram of DNA Calculator

Calculator for determining the number of ends in picomoles (pmol) for a linear DNA fragment or plasmid for a ligation.

The insert to vector ratio for a ligation is calculated in terms of insert ends to vector ends. The number of ligatible ends in pMols can be calculated from the molecular weight of the DNA using:

pmol ends/µg of DNA => (2 x 10⁶) / (number of base pairs x 660)
